'Roll Down The Window' wins award at Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival

We are incredibly happy and proud to see 'Roll Down The Window' announced as the winner in the Experimental Short Film category at this year's Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival! The documentary short was directed by Lipa Hussain through the Bridging the Gap programme in 2024 and produced by Scottish Documentary Institute and Forest of Black. Jury member Nina Abeysuriya said of the film:

"Roll Down the Window was the first time I witnessed the urgent and uncompromising honesty in telling a personal and collective story of racialised trauma. It’s a raw and unapologetic portrayal of the filmmaker’s open conversation that, for me, speaks to the rage carried through generations of dehumanisation. What a relief—what a necessary release—to see this told so boldly, with nothing held back."

'Roll Down The Window' will screen at the festival on November 7th at CCA in Glasgow as part of the Unique Perspectives strand, find out more and book tickets here
