Siri is a recent arrival at The Forest of Black, but has known the gang for several years and has over a decade’s experience writing and directing films. She has worked in documentary, but is predominantly a fiction director based between Scotland and London.
Her background in narrative drama includes a Masters Degree from the National Film & Television School, a BAFTA Scotland nomination for Best Short Film, four hours of broadcast continuing drama for the BBC and a first feature screenplay currently in prep. Her short films have screened internationally at the Berlinale, BFI London, Seattle, TIFF Kids and Edinburgh to name but a handful, picking up various nominations including a win at the BAFTA Scotland New Talent Awards for Best Female Performance.
Much of her passion lead projects tend towards the fantastical, fusing kitchen-sink drama, sci-fi and personal politics in an attempt to present and critique the world from fresh alternative perspectives. Working to a brief, Siri is versatile and generous, using her unique vision to offer up ideas that are both innovative and appealing to mainstream audiences.
