Forest of Black is an award-winning, independent, production company, developing and producing innovative film content across multiple platforms in the UK and abroad. Our process is defined by a ‘creative first’ ethos that means we are constantly pushing artistic boundaries within the films we create.

Whether we are realising our own ideas or collaborating with agency creatives, brands, musicians or other clients, our highly experienced team of producers and directors are passionately committed to creating genre-defining moments within film, television, music, commercials and documentary.

We pride ourselves in being different. Music video has been a core part of our DNA since the founding of the company and we take the creative and adaptive approach of this genre into all the work we make.

Facilities

The edit suites are within our studio space in the Tradeston area of Glasgow, close to the City Centre with excellent links to the M8 motorway and serviced by bus and underground. 24/7 access. Shared kitchen facilities for tea / coffee / lunches. Highspeed Wifi connection. Plenty of cafes, coffee shops, bars and restaurants close by. We also have production office desk spaces available to productions.

Post Production Facilities

Spacious and luxurious post production suites with large client sofa area and Director desk space, separate machine room and storage cupboard.

All suites have:

2020 Mac Pro Towers, 3.2GHz 16-core Intel Xeon W processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.4GHz, 256GB of DDR4 ECC memory, 1TB SSD storage, Radeon Pro Vega II with 32GB of HBM2 memory, Apple Afterburner card.

1x Flanders calibrated colour grading monitor, 2x Dell Ultrasharp 24 monitors & 1x large 4K Panasonic client monitor.

Software:

Full Adobe Creative Cloud, Davinci Resolve Studio. Avid Media Composer & Final Cut Pro can be added for an additional cost. Hard wired high speed internet with dedicated line, 90mbs+ upload & download.

Production Office Facilities

Large desk spaces available within our communal studio. Access to high speed wireless internet, private storage cupboard, meeting room facilities with large viewing monitor, communal kitchen facilities, 24 hour access and within close proximity to Glasgow city centre and all major transport links.

Finishing

We can facilitate remote grading from our suites on Davinci Resolve Studio with Colourist talent in London, or wherever you like really, at an hourly rate. We can also facilitate remote sound and picture mixing and mastering for broadcast.

Talent
