Ok, so maybe it wasn’t in the running for the Palme D’or, but we are extremely proud that our Straight 8 film ‘Hard Coffee’ was selected as one of 8 films to show in the competition’s Cannes screening. We had a brilliant time shmoozing around Le Croisette and meeting great filmmakers from across the world as well as new pals at partner organisations Jameson First Shot and Eleven Fifty Five. There’s a chance to see the film in London in July and after that we’ll get it up on the website for your viewing pleasure. Straight 8 is an amazing filmmaking competition where you make a short on 1 roll of super8 film, no editing, the 1st time you see your film is on the big screen! Get involved in the next round.
We’re delighted to be working with Siri Rødnes for commercial, brand and music video work. Siri graduated from the National Film and Television School and has been Directing lots of short film work and Television as well as developing two feature projects. She brings some really strong narrative drama experience to the company’s offering. Have a watch of her showreel and do get in touch if you’d like to discuss projects to collaborate with her on.
Delighted to put this live montage video together for Biffy Clyro’s new single ‘Friends and Enemies’ in April. We’d filmed at a few of their Arena shows at the end of last year and Michael and Oscar teamed up to co-direct and co-edit this video with some added VFX from Ciaran. An FOB family affair of a video! As ever a total pleasure to try and replicate the intense energy of a Biffy live set on screen.
Oscar Directed the new video for Una Healy’s (the Saturdays) single Battlelines in April. Always a fan of a technical challenge Oscar devised a video that was single take, steadicam, loads of cast being used as repeats, fire, smoke, bikes, smashing plates, choreography…and all this with Una synching to the track in the wrong order! What could possibly go wrong? Luckily Una nailed the performance and Oscar pulled off a really lovely looking video. Check it out.
Ciaran Lyons has been busying away hand drawing in After Effects to create this vibrant, energetic and mesmerising promo for the incredible Ibibio Sound Machine’s latest single ‘Give Me A Reason’ releasing on Merge Records. When he first listened to the track Ciaran felt like he could ‘hear’ lasers, flashing lights and dancing – with Eno delivering such a great performance on the shoot all Ciaran had to do was try and bring these lights and lasers to life in post!
Michael Sherrington directed this commercial with The Leith Agency for The Scottish Government’s ‘Act Against Harm’ campaign. A simple idea revolving around visibility and the need for everyone to be aware about possible abuse. Michael created the piece by putting those who may be vulnerable front and centre, casting non actors in the roles. A very worthwhile and enjoyable project to be a part of.
Director Blair Young took a composed photographic approach to his latest piece, this promo for Domino Records artist Spinning Coin’s new single ‘Raining On Hope Street’. Captured on beautiful 16mm for a beautiful song it is a poignant and reflective film.
We recently made this striking new commercial with The Leith Agency for Road Safety Scotland and the Scottish Government as part if their Don’t Risk It campaign. Director Oscar Sansom combines some seriously emotive performances with dynamic, technical camera trickery to create an arresting work, which tackles the incredibly important message about the possible implications of speeding.
Director Michael Sherrington created this promo for Decca Records’ latest signing The Ayoub Sisters capturing the sisters’ infectious personalities as well as their recording session with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. A lovely way to get into the festive spirit.
